US BD release of this masterpiece is coming thanks to Discotek. It's going to be jam packed with extra features. Very exciting.

I really have mixed feelings about this one, but I do feel its one of the best short anime made.

Better than Robot Carnival and Labyrinth, can't think of others right now.

The short that sticks in my mind the most is the last one Cannon Fodder.
Could watch that one over and over again on repeat, don't know why.

“Anthology”.

I like Robot Carnival more but the Magnetic Rose short on its own is better than %99.9 of all anime. An absolute masterpiece. The music, the animation, the emotion, the WTF, it’s all amazing.

And, as many of us know, the Memories LD is one of the best ever made also.

Thanks, anthology.

Had the LD and its a great one, but sold it off before my last move and picked up the DVD which is not bad but just not everything an LD really is or should be.

wanted to get the LD but I don't love it as much as others but now I might just try to get it for complementing the BD but that would be far down the road. I've not really want to order any LDs or anything from Japan either or overseas the way things are.

They also announced the rest of the Urusei Yatsura movies. The license for those and the series is separate from the other movie they did, so it seems likely they will do the series eventually.

July pre-orders are up on RS which includes a couple things from today's announcement: https://www.rightstufanime.com/publishe ... tek_Titles

Is it based on the 2007 BD Japan remaster or the newly released "High Spec" 2020 BD Japan?

2000 Memories [DVD] - [BCBA-0640] (English subtitles)
2003 Memories [DVD] - [BCBA-1763] (priced down, new cover, English subtitles)
2007 Memories [Blu-ray+DVD] - [BCXA-13] (Japanese only)
2008 Memories [Blu-ray] - [BCXA-91] (Japanese only)
2020 MEMORIES High Spec Edition [Blu-Ray] - [BCXA-810] (Japanese only)

Haven't felt the need to upgrade yet, I still have:

Memories (1995) [BEAL-926]
1999 - Memories DVD Box (LD-sized) - [BCBA-0031]

Not sure, I could ask. I would think the newer one. For me it's an easy decision as this should be around $20 to pre-order and I do not have the LD.

It is also one of the two titles with non-english soundtrack and English ld-g. I would hang on to the ld.

(updated the list with more 2000's DVD releases)

I didn't realize that starting with the 2007 DVD+BD, they removed the English subtitles.
To avoid cannibalizing international sales?

LD has LD-G English subtitles.
1999 DVD has optional English subtitles (identical to the LD-G).
