So we all know what the last theatrical movies on LD are ( Sleepy Hollow, Bringing Out the Dead for the US; Tokyo Raiders, The Cell for Japan.) Anyone know what Anime titles were the last to be released on LD? If we go by LDDb listings, they are . . . Sakura Taisen TV (Street Date 16/03/2001) for Japan Kimagure Orange Road TV Box 2 (Street Date 1999) for the US Is this accurate? Anyone know of any other titles that may have come after these in their respective regions?

Is there any way to actually list every LD in the LDDB in chronological order, go the end of the list, and pick out the last anime title? I can only see how to sort specific lists.
Its definitely not Spriggen as that was from 1998 when LD was still the main format for anime. It would had been a 2000 or 2001 release.
I have an issue of Newtype here from 1999 and there are ads for many series on LD. Slayers Excellent, Cowboy Bebop, Gasaraki, Transformers boxes 1 and 2, Lost Universe, Card Captor Sakura, Outlaw Star, Brain Powered, Legend of Galactic Heroes, Cyber Formula Sin, Harlock Saga, Crusher Joe Eternal Perfect Box...loads of stuff.
The point when I knew LD was done was when FLCL was only released on DVD. A sad day, sometime in 2000.

99% of the time in the UK it's Ebay, possibly movie memorabilia shows at the N.E.C. in Birmingham, or LDDB or pay direct to a trusted seller. Other than the above that's pretty much it. I know that TARZAN was the last Disney title produced in Japan. I have 2 x Spriggan and 2 x Tarzan, but would greatly like to own TITAN.A.E. It will happen I know it will. Regards to you signofzeta

That's how I picked out Sakura Taisen and Kimagure Orange Road. Clicked on the "Anime" genre on one of the listings for an anime title. When the list of Anime titles came up, I clicked on "Released" to put them in order of release date. Just want to see if the database is correct or if anyone knows more.

Not all listings actually have a genre so its possible something was missed. Example: Gundam 0083: Last Blitz of Zion [BELL-543]This was the road show compilation release of the 0083 OVAs, a rather common release. There is virtually no info in the DB about it.

Advanced Search with Genre = Anime, Format = LD, then click on Released in reverse order: http://www.lddb.com/search.php?adv_sear ... =date, descJulien

Luckily the BEAL/BELL titles were released more or less serially. That would make it a circa 1992 release. http://www.lddb.com/search.php?referenc ... e&sort=refMost recent titles tend to have more information (because they were released in an Internet world, early 2000's). Yeah, I remember when Last Blitz of Zeon came out. I wasn't trying to say that it was the last anime LD or anything, far from it. I was just trying to show an example of how searching the anime genre dosn't bring up all anime, and therefore might not bring up the last anime released.
Is there any way to sort the entire LDDB by date, with no genre, audio type, etc? Maybe just sort everything in a region?
