Hello.

I'm trying to find information on a series Manga Video released in the UK in the 1990's but the name escapes me.

It was a series released over 12 VHS tapes. I think it had the word King or Kings in the title. Maybe Dragon as well? I remember the trailer had loads of guys in black suits and maybe a limo in it?

At the time Manga Video promoted it heavily on pretty much every release they put out in the trailers section of their tapes. I looked through a list of their releases and nothing stands out. I think it came out around 1995 or 1996?

Does anyone know the name? It's doing my head in!

Souryuuden aka Legend of the Dragon Kings is a 12 episodes OVA.
Kinda matches your rough description.

Thanks! I noticed that one but I don't think it's the right one. I think Dragon Kings came out at the same time as the one I am thinking of. This one though was on 12 separate tapes I think, not tapes with 2 or more episodes on them. I was trying to find the trailer for it off of one of the Manga Video cassettes perhaps on YouTube, but have so far struck out. I could be wrong though and the one you linked to could well be it. Just the art style doesn't seem to match. Maybe a case of fuzzy memories though.

Manga Video used to slap that PV on nearly every cassette they released. I always used to shake my head, perhaps sigh and then hit the fast forward button on the VCR. I felt they tried too hard to promote it so in the end I grew apathetic to it and ended up hating it. The tapes are probably worth a few bob today if nobody bought them.

Always seems to happen after you say it's not the thing you think it is. Found this. I think it is indeed the right series. I think Manga Video maybe put out individual cassettes at first and maybe rushed the last few volumes (probably because everyone was fed up seeing the bloody trailer that just went on and on and on and Ariston. )

Naturally, one look at eBay and the tapes are like sixteen jillion pounds each now.
