Edit: I see while typing this out je280 replied, just proves how these two players split opinions! ;)

There is little to split these players & your summation covers the players well.

If my 925 failed beyond repair (fingers crossed it does not!) I would be more than happy to have a 2950 to replace it, just love the 925 that has served me well for years.

Got to say I did like the more robust feel of the 2950 & the weight, also I think it was a little quieter in operation but may be well off the mark on that.

Cheers

Maybe I should put up a WTB listing for a CLD-99S. Hey, you never know, might get lucky!

If I end up importing a PAL player, it will be the CLD-2950. It is less fragile (no M-Holder).

I just obtained the US variant (CLD-3030) and fell in love. Well-made, single-sided players with digital memory? Sign me up!

I am going to buy a 925 I will see what it gives
on the other hand i think i have a better rendering in svideo the comb filter of the xs 3d does not look very efficient, the image is warmer in composite but the definition is better in svideo
i would like to update my xs 3d you have any idea how to do it? I update late
I dont have a pc, no rs 232 socket how to update?

Just something to be aware of on the 2950....HQ Circuit, make sure it's always switched off on the front panel switch. Its operation is more obvious on the 925 as an LED is lit when its switched on, this really does soften the image when engaged and I never use it, my apologies if you are already aware of this.

I do recall a review from back in the day (can't remember the magazine) that referred to the HQ Circuit as "Highly Questionable" - it is a pretty naff function & I too never use it.

I have a feeling it was Home Cinema Choice, and agreed on it being naff! I think it's effect on the 2950 is a little subtler though than the HQ circuit fitted to the 925 and possibly from what I've read the 919.
