I'd like someone to show up with a truck and just take these off my hands. Otherwise they'll end up in a garbage pile when I move some time in the future and leave them behind. It would be a shame considering that there are people around who could enjoy some of these titles. I'm in 07302 zip code.

EDIT: OK, since there seems to be some interest in my collection here's some additional info.

1. This is definitely a sales pitch, not a donation offer - I'm serious but I don't have a deadline; (My experience with donations are terrible - not doing it with stuff I actually care about)
2. The collection itself is a mixed bag value-wise - some titles are ex-rentals, some are a bit worn, others are brand new or even sealed. There's even the Criterion Midnight Cowboy signed by John Schlesinger. But I'm not sure if that's valuable since he signed it personally for me and made a joke in the text (he read the description and got pissed that it's all about the producer, Monte Hellman, and not a word about him :)
3. I realized that there's probably just a handful of titles in the list that have resell potential ; I have no intention of selling them separately since my objective is to empty my closet in a civilized way instead of dumping all those cool lasers in the garbage - which would happen if I were left with less desirable items
4. If you guys want to know the condition of specific titles (or make sure I listed them correctly), PM me - I don't have patience to go back and recheck every disc;
5. Price: $3000 or better offer (plus you come in and take them yourself) -

That is a very kind offer & surely someone will take you up on that, a very nice lot of LDs.

If I was closer I would be getting in touch but as I am in Scotland it might be a bit far to travel :( !!

Hope whoever ends up with these gives some of the big silver discs a spin.

Cheers

those are great. You can't donate them? I have found some LDs at thrift shops before. I would love to get my hands on some of them but can't take them all.

That’s a nice collection. However location is everything so if you live in BFE they are probably doomed. If you’re in SE Michigan I will pick them up tomorrow. Hopefully you’ll provide that info. America is a huuuuge place.

OK good luck.
3g is a lot, you do have some good titles that are max 40-50 bucks but then you have a lot of buck discs
that nobody buys.
Unfortunately the LD market is not what it used to be unless you piecemeal which will take
over 1 year on ebay and probably 4 here.

A perfect summation.

I really hope they don't end up binned.

Wait...he said he giving them away and now he wants $3000!?

People give away and throw away huge lots all the time so that’s what I assumed it actually was. Even in NJ only a store would blow that kind of cash at once on LDs. The vast VAST majority of this stuff is literally worth negative dollars.

Also, I’d never do multi thousand dollar business with someone who won’t speak on clear terms from the beginning so I guess this stuff is getting taken to a dumpster. :(

What is it with...people? He’s got a gun to the head of a pile of garbage and he wants $3000.

I didn't mean to confuse anyone: the title of my post is "Collection for sale". So that would imply an exchange of goods for money. I frankly didn't expect anyone to answer so I started with a general inquiry that perhaps should have been worded better. Is 3k a lot? I honestly don't know - clearly, that's not the consensus :D You could have been less condescending in your answer and perhaps I would have happily let you have the whole lot for $300.

I will admit I was confused by the original wording. Rein-o is right in that outside of discs that are collectible many common movies where there is no real reason to have the LD over the BD are near worthless and hard to sell. So $4 a LD (751 LD at 3k) is probably hard to get in one go now. If it were 2004 it would probably be a different story.

I do hope these find a home, but they are way too far from me to even make an offer.

Yes, that is a lot of money...even if none of those titles you have are rotters.

OK, so now I've been educated. As to the rot: I have no way of checking since my two LD players are broken for years.
