For the record, I did shamelessly 'point these out (when listed on Ebay)' in another topic some months ago without mentioning they were mine. But if someone would like to put in an offer, please send me a PM. They're not presently listed on Ebay. Feel free to ask questions here. And yes, I can take additional pictures at request.

Things of note.:
1. I'm only interested in selling them as a set.
2. No I can not test them, sold my Apple II about two decades ago.
3. Shipping will be via two large boxes through FedEx.
4. Local pick-up is doable, but I'm in the upstate of South Carolina.

$50 is about what I can afford with my move coming up, but I'd love to have these so I could digitize them.

Yeah, worth and getting are 2 different things, I can't see them being worth a lot, what were you asking for them on ebay?

Also you have to take into consideration ebay fees etc.
Good luck, hope pokerfraker gets them, I have no interest in them, have too much stuff I need to clear out.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/133453365693

I did relist them, two nights ago just because I still had free listings for June that were going to expire. But yes, quite true, Ebay and PayPal fees eat into the price quite a lot. Initially when I listed them over a year ago on Ebay, what prompted getting them on there at that moment was that I was liquidating some of my vintage computing equipment because I was (and still am) unemployed and someone else at that time (I think it was in March?) had just sold only one of these Hoffman LD/software programs for $115 + shipping, so I was like, wow the market must be hot for these. But now I'm like, no there's not really a market for this it's as complicated as I'd always imagined it to be because someone would have to own both a Apple II series computer and a LD player with a RS-232 Serial PC interface, which isn't exactly a common feature on a LD player, not that LD players are all that common to begin with.

Just keep in mind that shipping is not going to be cheap as they've got to go in two boxes.

This is definitely interesting but I'm not a serious potential buyer.
The asking price probably isn't ridiculous but tyranny of distance and all that, plus I don't have an Apple II :(
When I did computer studies back in high school IIe's were the computers we used (I think one unit was IIgs), man that was so long ago I've forgotten everything but I do still have my school notes and discs packed away.

Would it be possible to use these with some type of Mac via emulation (and a relevant LD player of course)?
I have three PPC G4's (eMac, iBook, Power Mac) none of which have serial but maybe you could use a usb adapter? I also have an old Macintosh Performa here stored away too but I forget which model and I'm 99% sure it doesn't have the Apple IIe card.

I believe you can ship these Media Mail, I see no reason why you can't.

The reason is the shipping would push up the price too much. Shipping anything from the US to here isn't cheap, I have done private trades (no money exchanged) with Gypsy more than once but they weren't huge heavy lots. The transit time is rather long too, I've got loads of stuff from EU countries in way less time than the US. Hell, even stuff from China doesn't take as long 50% of the time.

And like I said, I don't have an Apple II so I'd be buying something that would just sit on a shelf.

Yes & to here also - the UK.

There was a time when the post costs were not cheap but bearable, now though is costs silly money to send fairly small light items & anything that weighs more than a fart is ludicrous.

A pity as I have not bought anything from the US for years now because of that.

USPS Cracked down on shipping software via Media Mail years ago. And Media Mail can not be insured against loss or damage.

While I'm not 100% sure on the software, you may be right.

Insurance can be added to all USPS mail in the USA including media mail and most overseas depending on service.

Anyway hope someone can get this set and enjoy it for what it is.

EDIT: Yeah, I forgot, my wife got 2 framed pictures sent media mail but the PO didn't say anything and the shipper was a
lucky idiot

This is actually educational which is the entire spirit of media mail but really it just depends on who you get. I've received packages that were media mail legal but some employee said they were not. I did not pay the extra postage for any. Then plenty of illegal media mail gets through untouched.

Was trawling ebay for stuff, so did an Apple II search. There's a big bundle auction atm (AU domestic) IIe with colour monitor and 2 floppy drives, heaps of stuff and the seller will post. Monitor, IIe and one of the floppies have original boxes. There's some of the usual yellowing of plastic going on, which is to be expected and can be dealt with anyway.

Apparently he blew something in the monitor trying to test but he claims the computer does power on...unknown if there are any other issues.

Bidding is up to just under $400aud atm (shipping is another $65aud) with just under another 3 days left.
 I'm a little tempted to bid but I think this is going to end up much much higher, like way above what I would be prepared to spend on a project.

I'll keep an eye on it anyway even if just to see how much it goes for in the end.

I seem to remember that Apple II power supplies have Rifa paper caps, which eventually pop and smoke like reefers.
