Hi, everyone,

Not sure if I should post this here or in the Caveat Emptor thread or somewhere else (if so, please let me know and I'll delete this and post in the proper place).

I'm trying to help my elderly parents downsize and was looking to do something with my dad's LD collection. Obviously a fair price is what someone will pay for a collection. That being said, I mentioned selling them and someone asked what I was looking for as a price for the lot. I'm in the process of adding the titles to a collection here so I'd be able to share the full list with people who might be willing to come get them. I'm just trying to see what would be fair if someone was willing to take them all. I'm guessing it'll be around 500 discs, probably 30-40 will be Criterion (I'm at around 230 now and there are 22 Criterion in there). They're a mix of classic movies, war films, musicals, and popular movies including some Disney movies (no anime) from the '80s and '90s. Large majority have probably been watched only once if that.

I don't have the time to sell them individually online. So just wondering if I said something like $1/disc if that's fair, too high, too low? If it's helpful for reference:

Thanks in advance!

List is now complete if anyone is interested. https://www.lddb.com/collection.php?act ... 11&max=630

I can't watch each video to confirm there's no disc rot on them, but I can say that while a handful have been watched repeatedly, the very large majority have been watched once/never (though all unwrapped).

There are 46 Criterion videos:https://www.lddb.com/collection.php?action=list&user=cwr11&max=630&cat=collection&key=2

LDDb categorizes the genres of the collection as: 144 Drama 142 Comedy 94 Thriller 70 Action 39 Sci-Fi 33 Musical 27 War 18 Western 15 Horror 9 Crime 7 Opera 5 Animation 4 Adventure 4 Romance 4 Documentary 4 Family 2 Fantasy 1 Adult 1 Computer Animation 1 Play 4 (undefined)

The collection is in Southeastern NH if someone is interested in buying it and picking it up, going with $1/disc. And if you're interested and further away but willing to buy it and also arranging and paying for shipping too, I'm open to that, but it would need to be picked up within a couple of weeks because my parents' house sold very quickly. Only time I've dealt with freight shipping is for shipping pinball machines, so not sure if a company like STI would pick up boxes of LDs. It's about 8 boxes and tubs (a combination of plastic tubs and wine boxes).

Hope you are also trying ebay with a local pickup and marketplace or even craigslist, some still use that too.
Good luck with getting them to a new collector.
