I figure they're worth a few dollars apiece, IF I can find someone to buy them. How much work am I willing to put into this? If you're interested, scroll down the list and let me know.

There's really no reason to be nasty to someone who's trying to settle an estate.

To be clear, this is not my career and I'm not doing this for money. I'm the executor of a friend's estate. I spent a lot of hours hauling books, clothing and other recyclables to the dump just to keep stuff out of the landfill.

For the laser disks, I just would rather someone who appreciates them have them, rather than recycling the cardboard sleeves and tossing the disks into the trash.

The guy who owned them was my best friend and a really good guy. I don't know if laser disk collectors know each other- his name's Marc Margolies. When I donated his chess book and chess set collection to charity, the guy who picked it all saw his name and remembered him from chess tournaments, and that was nice to hear.

The Rolling Stones is a laser disk, not an LP.

Then I would either:

- Document them all properly to find potential buyers

or

- Offer to pick them up for free (or come check on location) and someone might be willing to give it a try

The last batch I sold, and I think I did it through posting here, I didn't even have all the info like I do here. And someone came over and gave me a few hundred dollars for them.

What do you mean by document properly? If you mean a full cataloguing, with bar codes or something like that, that's a ton of work for almost no money. I would think that the titles would be pretty helpful to people- if they want a specific title they could ask for more information. Or they could browse through the list, say "Gee, I could probably make use of ten or fifteen of those, might as well make an offer for the whole lot."

This is already way more effort than most people would go through, but then I'm the guy who filthied my car by making dozens of trips to the dump to recycle clothing and paper, when I could've just left it all in the house that's being torn down. But my hope is to keep stuff out of a landfill. Working for thirty cents an hour, or whatever this ends up being, isn't ideal for me. (I get less than half a percent of any revenue here)
