Hello!

Not exactly a DVD Audio but there is no BD Audio section so that will have to do.

The new TFF albums was released on a 2,000 limited edition in DTS-HD 5.1/Atmos mix and sold out in 24h.

2nd hand prices were getting insane ($100-150 on eBay or check Discogs).

But they are making another production batch (not very nice for the 1st batch "exclusive limited edition"!) and you have 2 weeks to catch it:

https://superdeluxeedition.com/news/sde-announces-a-second-pressing-of-tears-for-fears-the-tipping-point-on-blu-ray-audio/

Quote:
To be clear, the second pressing is still a limited edition, but this time the number produced is limited by time, rather than quantity. The pre-order window for the second edition opens today, 20 April 2022, and closes on 4 May 2022. If you recall, the first pressing sold out in 24 hours, but this time you have two weeks to get your pre-order in. Please do not miss out. The total number being produced will be published on SDE when we go into production.

The release date for this second pressing of this Tears For Fears The Tipping Point blu-ray audio is 17 June 2022.

Nice to see a Blu Ray audio release. Not too keen on the album, could be a grower though. Would be great to see Songs From The Big Chair on this format.

Had a look round that website and I wouldn't mind a copy of the Matt Bianco rarities!

Everyone loves Matt Bianco. Even Simon!

Huh . . . this might be the first time a newly released album was released almost simultaneously on a hi-res format.

I’m pretty sure this isn’t the case. If you consider DSD and FLAC to be formats then for sure it’s not.

I bought this on LP for my girlfriend, at Target. Just walked in and bought it, no preordering, no scarcity.

It reminds me a lot of other stuff, for example late period Butterfly Child and the OST to Toast of London.

Ok, then I'll revise my statement to say, "hi-res media" simultaneously.

I'm really shocked that anybody cares about this band now in 2022.
Saw a special on the news about them and its shocking since they were around for so long but really nobody cared about them
back in the day and its surprising that anybody still does.

Ah you have to love nostalgia............

I bought it for my girlfriend…not really a fan, myself. I think she’s seen them live.

The 12” of Everybody Wants to Rule the World has a fantastic dub version on the back side. That disc is probably my only thing from them I care about. I have some others but I’m just not into it. Too mainstream. Sorta like Duran Duran. Never understood why they were so popular…

Duran Duran live are absolutely epic in a stadium. Can vouch for that.

I rock my best of Duran Duran in the car, great stuff.

Never saw them live, been listening to podcasts about your favorite band sucks and they have some really good points about certain bands
where you have to see them live.

Oh and I never knew about the squeaky drum pedal of John Bonham from Led Zeppelin
He was a great drummer because he could hit the drums harder than anybody else

The composition and arrangements (for a duo using a lot of electronic boxes at the time) are some of the best the 80's has produced and stand the test of time so far.

They do admit they love the Beatles and there is something very Paul McCartney about their (underrated for me) album "Everybody Loves A Happy Ending".
My sister saw them live but before they split in the 90's, not a great show/memory for her. The tension on stage was obvious.
I saw them when they reunited (and got my LD signed!) and they were having a lot more fun revisiting their old songs.

For a musical breakdown analysis, the great Rick Beato:

There is a very good documentary on BBC 4 about Tears For Fears and how they made Songs From The Big Chair. Well worth hunting down.

You guys are just making them sound more like one hit wonders when everything you post in favor of them is from the same album.
