One thing I was wondering about...

Is there a complete list, of all DVD-A's ever made somewhere out there?
I'd be interested to have a peek at something like that.

Cheers!

I was looking for something like that too...
Discogs is the more "accurate", I think

Not complete, Discogs doesn't list the recent King Crimson 2011-12-13 DVD-A re-releases for example and I don't really see the Japanese releases.

Few lists:
http://www.quadraphonicquad.com/dvdalist.htm
http://www.surrounddiscography.com/dvdaudio/dvdaudio.htm

With Japanese releases:

http://reviews.cnet.com/4520-6462_7-5125589-2.html?

I have a bunch of SACDs (5.1 and 2.0) but only had one DVD-A in my collection for years and it was the Japanese release of Akira soundtrack in DVD-A -- Geinō Yamashirogumi ~ Symphonic Suite AKIRA 2002 (lossless 4.1 and stereo).

But recently I've been buying all the King Crimson CD/DVD-A remasters.

I still have the first 7 issues of the DVD-Audio official catalog given away quarterly in shops in Japan until... 2007?

Maybe it's time we start building such a list on LDDb? :-)

Regards,
Julien

I only have 5 DVD-A's myself (the japanese Evagelion OSTs), so there is not much I could add to that list,
but yeah it would be awesome to see such a listing here, and find new titles to add to the wishlist :)
That Akira disc would be something I'd sure like to have as well.

Cheers, Alex.

Could only find the vol.5 (May 2003), vol.6 (Oct 2003) and vol.7 (Apr 2004) but they can surely help.

Vol.7 lists about 300 titles on DVD-Audio when the equivalent SACD catalog of "summer 2006" was listing 2,657 SACDs.

Don't bother trying www.dvdaudio-net.com, it was released and is now a parked domain in German...

The Japanese SACD official website still exists though and is maintained:

http://www.super-audiocd.com/software/

As of "Jul 2013", SONY website shows 7,421 titles.

that's cool about AKIRA I would love to get a copy and also get the rest of the Eva ones I'm missing.

I wonder if there is any Escaflowne or any other anime on DVD-A.

I put on Discogs the details of the Akira DVD-A:

What I find amusing from those lists of DVD-Audio releases, is that some of them were released by Sony! You would think they wouldn't touch the format since they have SACD. I at first thought maybe a SACD was already out and they decided to release it on DVD-Audio too, but no, "Tarkus" by Emerson, Lake and Palmer was released on DVD-Audio by Sony UK, but according to Discogs has no SACD release anywhere!
