This is a no frills laserdisc player that has all the basic functions that you'll need.
PROS: Based on a simple to work on chassis. Has good picture quality for a BOL player. Can play most DiscoVision discs without trouble. I have gotten it to play a GM disc but it doesn't recognize it as a CLV or a CAV disc. Very reliable. Can enable CX on discs without the Auto-CX code.
CONS: There is only analog sound. Laser locks on early CLV titles. Can't play CDs.
CONCLUSION: Great player for a newcomer to the format who isn't sure if they stick with it, but also makes a great backup player in case your main player has to be repaired. If you find one I wouldn't spend more than $15-$20 for it.

appears to be roughly based on the 1990 CLD-1080 chassis. -1080 was my very first LDP, only had it for a month or so before it's destruction in a rather careless accident. Oooooh, Get Me...
