Hi I got this player. This is decent machine overall and was flagship LD player at the time(1993-1996). Plays both PAL/NTSC and CD's. Plays both sides without flipping the disc. -phono composite video output, -s-video output -2 x SCART in and output, -stereo phono audio outputs -an optical digital audio output -a remote control in/out -a CD deck synro input. |

Yup! This is I believe up there with its successor, the CLD-D925 — both these players are generally considered among the best PAL players ever made, as far as I remember. |

I definitely prefer the 2950 over the 925. Just lift up the 2950, and then lift up the paperweight 925... This was a quality machine - also love the headphone output with volume regulation on the front. Picture quality was on par with the 925 IMHO - yes, it is missing an AC-3 output because it was designed before that even existed but that is not really that bad. Nice machine if you can get it cheap. |

Both great players in my opinion & I get the liking of the solid heavy feel of the 2950 but the good old 925 is the one for me - the frame grab feature, AC-3 outlet & it is close but the picture quality of the 925 is perhaps a tad clearer but that is only my opinion. I used a 2950 for about 4 or 5 years as a "workhorse" player (to check out discs in collections I bought before listing them) & it must have had between 4 to 5 thousand LDs pass through it with no issues at all - sold it a couple or three years ago & as far as I know it still does all it should so they were a solid build & built to last. I only sold it as prolapsed discs put paid to running around the country picking up LD collections & players or I would probably still have it but I now really don't see the point in having lots of players sitting doing nothing although I do have a couple of players sitting "just in case". After saying that though I would happily grab another 2950 if the condition (& price) were good. If anyone is looking for a good PAL & NTSC player I don't think they would be disappointed with either player but again that is only my opinion. |

Agree with most of the posts above. Build quality in particular was a lot better on the 2950 and I personally found picture quality sharper on the 2950 when compared to the 925. Only downsides for me in the 2950 is the very slow side change (compared with 925) and the lack of freeze frames which if you watch a lot of music videos is a bit of a nuisance. I've a couple of 2950 players but keep them exclusively for digitization work of PAL discs. |

I tried with game disck, some PAL videos were there, it could not play the videos ! |

A PAL player that can't play the analog track should still be able to play the video, just without sound. Of course I could be wrong on this. |
