Thank your sir. I currently have a Radiance XE for scaling (and a Crystalio II on loan that I'm trying out). I have programming background in several languages (might need to knock some rust off LOL). However, having to hook it up to a PC is a deal-breaker for me.

Raspberry pie sounds delicious. I liked it better that way after I typed it. Indeed delicious.

Yeah that's just everything hot glued into a hollowed out Faroudja processor, not complicated in the least. Very simple but looks cool in the rack -

Very simple but looks cool in the rack - Would you mind sharing how much you spent on the components (minus the ADV). I can get a refurbished, SFF HP for under $50 at work. It would greatly simplify things, I think.

But controlling from your tablet (?) sounds pretty cool.

But controlling from your tablet (?) sounds pretty cool.[/quote] Android tablet runs Harmony app. I hit watch a laserdisc in harmony. Hub turns everything on and connects to tablet as a keyboard and sends a keystroke to the tablet. Tasker is constantly looking for that keystroke, when it sees it it opens Bluetooth serial app and runs a macro that has the script to setup the eval board. A friend sent me a new script and I was able to try it out near instantly.

I work at a company that sells HDMI/HDCP silicon IP blocks, so I’m good - others not so much

Using the eval board with an old Raspberry Pi I’d rather use for more demanding things got old. I started tinkering with a NodeMCU board based on the ESP8266 instead. I got the inspiration from how people were able to hack the budget GBS-8200 arcade scaler. The GBS Control by Rama has a really nice web GUI so the plan is to tinker with that and build a web GUI for the eval board. Fingers crossed, it’s not goding to be fast, but let’s see how it ends up…
