@mimylovesjapan i see that your posted images are 711x400, are you not using the lumagen to scale the image to 1080p for display?

Yes, you can see the original pictures on my site (I give the link for each movie at the top of the post). The 711x400 size is a good size to post it on forums.

Great image quality, but in it's in Pan Scan, and sound quality is quite bad.
The resolution is quite impressive for a LD. I never noticed any stair effect on horizontal lines ! Even in video mode !

Cool, fun thread.
For what it's worth Coma doesn't sound too hot on DVD either, nor was it filmed in a way that you'd miss much without widescreen.
I will say the LD cover is a massive spoiler, though of course back then trailers gave away ninety percent of the story anyhow.

That's true cover is spoiler !^^
But I love the design itself. I generally prefer aesthetic over suspense !

With a CLD-959, and a lumagen 2144. From the Akira promotion disc (AKIRA-2000)
