Hello
Just a short post on my thoughts using a Cheap 'Kramer Scaler' and a Cheap DVD Recorder the Panasonic DMR-ES15 - wrt to which device outputs the best picture.

The Laserdisc Player used was a Pioneer CLD-D770(703) and TV a Samsung Q60 QLED thing.

The Kramer accepts Composite, Component, S-Video Input and Outputs to HDMI or RGB.
- scales up to 1080P60

I think everyone knows what the Panasonic DVD Recorder is all about...the ES15 has component output, composite or S-Video input.

Testing - Various Discs Used...I have no Video Test Discs currently- Comparisons made by eye.

The best picture obtained was using the Panasonic ES15.!

The Kramer was a disappointment.
It had noise control settings Low, Med, High...using the Kramer the picture was more noisy to start with - adding noise control just made motion scenes 'smear' unacceptably.

I tried all settings with the Kramer - every resolution and noise and color settings...none matched just using the Panasonic ES15.!

Cheers

It’s very hard to beat LD going it through a decent DVD recorder, especially for the price, utility, and ease of setup.
