I hadn't heard of this, but reading "FPGA" and "4K" sets my Vaporware Senses tingling. The reported reason that none of the latest/upcoming FPGA retro game scalers support 4K output is that FPGAs that can handle 4K video are prohibitively expensive, and the pre-order price for this thing is just $600. |

It's really, really hard for anyone but the big companies to get FPGA's right now, much less 4K video capable ones. |
