This looks like a standalone comb filter. Does anyone have experience with it?

That makes sense – if it’s from 1996-7 maybe it’s not super good?

There’s also the SKNET SK-3DWP from 2003 which seems to be one of the chips used in DVD recorders in a box. I have one of these, waiting for an S video cable to arrive to test. Low expectations however, someone mentioned that it had issues on twitter:

‘3DWPro has got an older TBC chip named MN673744 and it causes the said rainbow artifact. All the Panasonic recorders that come with this chip have got the same issue as well.’

https://av.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/20030724/sknet.htm

Update - just tested today and the output with the box is far worse than without it.

OK, I bought the 2 units on Yahoo! and Mercari auctions.
They both came in today.

just tested the 2 units, one working perfectly , the other having a non functioning input A and in input B the comb filter does not seem to work (notch only).

for those who might be interested in some test clips, what sequences would you like to see the 3D Y/C performance of the Toshiba?

I do have some test discs and hundreds of LaserDisc movies to test.

Do you have the US version of Manhattan? That disc has the worst moiré I’ve ever seen in this one scene where the two male leads are walking toward the camera on the street. One of them has a checkerboard shirt and it looks pretty wild on even good setups.

Anyone else have experience with the settings?

a manual that would explain the settings would be great.

I only had one setting (the one used for the video tests, that was acceptable.

As I have 2 units, one with a non working 3D filter, I'm not quite sure if the one that
has only one setting that engages the 3D comb filter, works 100%.
