Im curious who is using DLP display or Rear Projector and with what player?
I picked up a 60" Mits last Feb, (2009 model year) used, I ran a pretty good selection of Players except the Ld-s2,xo,x9 which I do not own.
I had Kurtis send me his experience on setting up the Contrast on Digital displays Using VE disc and I still used the DVDO HD+, I also dug out the Alchemy Vre 2d filter.
The 97 and 95 seemed more natural color wise still, the dlp doesn't use svideo, so I used svideo through the HD+ then DVi to hdmi to dlp.
It seems I spent 6 days trying different players and adjusting the Brightness and Contrast.
I ran a cld99 base player, dvls, etc.
So Im curious who is happy with their Dlp setups?
Thanks.

Interesting, Daune. I've been contemplating DLP for some time now. I currently have Panasonic LCD 37 inch set from 2008, and it makes my CLD D701, and my CLD 97, and any other player for that matter, look horrible. Taking both my CLD D701 and my CLD 97 to a 16 year old Panasonic CRT makes it look perfect. I even picked up a JVC CRT circa 2003 at a yard sale for $10 bucks and I hooked up a CLD 3090 to it and it looks beautiful. Do you recommend DLP for LaserDisc? I've seen that CRT is better visually with LaserDisc, SVHS, etc, since it has better blacks. Also have seen LaserDisc on a Mitsubishi Diamond WS Series Circa 2001 and it looked really great. Even have seen LaserDisc on my Dad's Elite PRO 70X5FD series TV with a DVL 919 and it looked so much better than an LCD set. With DLP sets today, the prices are so much cheaper, at Best Buy, the price was all the way down to $499 for a set, but sadly, it lacks an S Video

So I picked up a DLP. That's what video processors are for when you don't have svideo either. Basically I can run Composite out on a 95 or 97 right to a DLP and it looks Good. But I like aspect rate control also. Its just a long trial and error after you decide on your setup. Many on here are using Pioneer kuro Plas and found that to be the best replacement to crt what I have read and hear. On a 95 you would always use composite out, and most others.

Sadly, the Mitsubishi had a convergence problem and my Dad gave it away to some charity (at least he got a tax deduction). Instead, he got the Elite PRO 70X5FD in its place, which is quite impressive, but I prefer the bulky CRT sets. Anyway, I'd be really interested in DLP, as I could run my TX NR809 right to the TV thru HDMI so no need for the SVideo.

Always been curious to see how LD would look on a Mitsu Laservue TV (which is an extension of DLP tech.)

I have a Mitsubishi DLP (60638) and am generally satisfied with the picture.
I have composite out to the DVD recorder which splits it into component video, from there it goes into the DVDO line doubler which outputs componenet to the Mits.
