So I'm looking through craigslist for the hell of it, and find a Sony KP-53HS30 4:3 HD Rear Projection TV for sale for just $20 Looking at the Owner's Manual looks like it has a lot of the same features of a WEGA (16:9 enhanced mode, 3D comb filter, etc.) Just lacking an HDCP compatible input so it's no good for blu-ray. So has anyone used one of these for Laserdiscs? Quality any good (other than the lower lumen brightness of projection vs direct view.) |

Problem is, that's a space hog and a half. So it's not so easy as to just say "yeah sure! I'll take it and test it out!" |

About HDCP, you can just get an HDFury and then you're set to go. Got one myself and it's a great investment for any high definition display lacking HDMI or HDCP. |

I swear I learn new stuff all the time from you guys. HDFury seems like a pretty decent product and actually works. Pretty cool. Giving me more ways to make the ol' lady mad when I keep coming up with excuses for picking up a CRT. |

I've got the HD Gamer 2 component, which is basically HDMI to YPbPr with stereo output (RCA). It supports up to 1080p and all you got to do is to connect it to your system and plug in the PSU. From there it does just what it's supposed to with no adjustments or tweaking whatsoever. Who would've imagined something like that but what a great thing, especially for the price ($160, much cheaper than most HD Furys out there). |

Yep, that sums it all up. Although you should look around and see what kind of alternatives there are for you. Since I only needed YPbPr I took the cheapest one available. It does the trick basically. |
