Just picked up one of these at Goodwill. Anyone else have one, or have any thoughts on using with laserdisc player?

Well, it's a "Grand WEGA" and since that spec sheet says it has a 3D comb filter, I would imagine it's the same one they used in their last CRT WEGAs--which is a damn good one. In fact, I kick around the idea of picking up some Sony DVD recorders to see if they put that comb filter in any of those, but I digress.

Also in your favor is that it is a 720p set rather than a 1080i/p set so the resolution is slightly closer to LD resolution than the other. So when the picture is scaled, it won't be scaled as much.

Course the best way to find out is to test it out. Got a Video Essentials disc?

dont even have a remote for it yet. Just found one on ebay, and its on its way. Seems to power up fine, but haven't got it upstairs to spare bedroom, its planned location, yet, to plug anything into it.

Have a Pioneer CLD-59 Elite, and a Yamaha oooo... I forget, 1700 something?
