I found a scaler on eBay named TnA VSP1250. This is a scaler made in Germany. Is this a good HQ scaler with a great comb filter? Does anyone have this scaler? Do you recommend it? eBay seller described it as a new unit, seen pictures it's clearly a used item with scuffmarks. http://www.ebay.de/itm/T-A-VSP-1250-R-H ... Swr7ZW7Mb1

The T+A is a re-badged "Cinemateq Picture Optimizer Plus HD". A retro video game heavy review for this unit (and other scalers) can be found here: http://retrogaming.hazard-city.de/

I didn't get any wiser from this blog, there were pros and cons on many scalers. I don't know what to look for for my LD player? I was browsing this scaler on eBay DVDO Iscan MM701 it's very pricey, don't know if it's any good for LD? http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-MM701-DVDO- ... SwPhdU8cxHmy idea is to get a Sanyo PLV-Z3000 projector. this is an old projector but very good. to find a good scaler for this projector so I can use my LD player, what do you recommend me to buy? thanks a lot for the above link.

1) Check that the colour space is set correctly for HDMI input 1 (auto is the safest bet if you're unsure). 2) LD-S2 → AV selector → SONY HDD recorder → DVDOISCANDUO → BENQGW 2750 monitor Is there a particular reason for the HDD recorder in the chain? Many people use one for its comb filter but the comb filter in the Duo is almost certainly better. Should go: LD-S2 (composite) > DVDO Duo > BENQ Monitor. For most of those settings the best way to set them accurately would be to obtain a copy of Video Essentials. The colour/saturation setting does seem quite high? The setting for detail and edge enhancement seems far too high, I would think settings that high would result in a very overly processed/enhanced image with a lot of introduced artefacts. I never put them above 0 and in the case of edge enhancement had it set to a negative value, But these are something of personal preference.
