Hi I'm using a Pioneer CLD -D925 to upscale some LDs. I have it going through my Panasonic DMR-EX99V and then to ELegato HD60 capture card at 1080p. PAL is fine but on some NTSC discs I have a problem with lines on some scene changes. See pic. Any idea how to get rid of these?? Thanks!!! https://imgur.com/a/qAdHR |

Do you get the same problem if you remove the HD60 from the chain? In all honesty, I'm not a big fan of these usb video capture cards as they tend not to do well with analog video. |

I have seen this on bootleg DVDs that are actually PAL but transferred improperly to NTSC. So it could be something like that?? try removing the device like invenio says and see what happens. |

Thanks for the replies. I have to pass it through the Elgato to capture it. It's weird as some NTSC discs are fine and others have this annoying flicker...... |

That sounds like a regular artifact of NTSC 24->60i telecining to me - the systems weren't smart at all, so the transition frames can easily get interlaced. Funny how in the analog era PAL speedup was probably more annoying in practice, but in the digital age it's easier to correct. |

Try recording at 24 fps. |

Unfortunately the ELgato can only capture at 30 or 60fps |

Again, I would take it out of the system and see if you still have the issue. If you don't see this issue with the Elgato out of the system then the Elgato is the problem and you need to find another solution to video capture. |

OK. Thanks. Yes, it only happens when going through the Elgato. I also have a Hauppauge box and the same happens with it. I may have to buy a better internal capture card. Thanks for the help |
