Now that I'm all settled down in Tokyo, it's time to revisit some of my aging hardware.
My
NEC HT1100 720p DLP was a good friend for the 15 years it lasted but the lamp has less than 50 hours to go and it's time for an upgrade.
I know the marketing of 4K VP is blurry as some use some kind of 2K interlace voodoo magic instead of real 4K.
Substance's recommendations were on
JVC or
SONY (native) 4K, or alternatively a VERY good 1K.
Since it's Tokyo, a short projection distance is mandatory (something like 3+ meter from VP to screen).
Also mandatory is the trapeze correction capability (keystoning?).
Ideally bright enough to be used in mid daylight and not hot/loud enough to distract from the movie being played.
Any advice?
