Saw them going for ~$20 on Japanese websites, maybe a cheap analog -> DVI/HDMI conversion unit?

This might have Faroudja processing, I think.
There might be an LD-HD1K too but that's mentioned as being an AV hub, 7 video in and HDMI out, dunno about processing.

I might do some more searching/reading later after dinner.

Edit:
From what I can figure out, this and the LD-HD1K are used with a JVC D-ILA projector (DLA-HD10K was the actual model I saw mentioned).

LD-HD2KD is "the Faroudja high-performance unit, which uses its digital high-end video processor and special technologies to get the best quality out of HD signals."

LD-HD1K is just mentioned as being an AV hub, I guess this is the more budget option instead of buying the LD-HD2KD.

Apparently these might've been available in Germany at some point, or maybe they were just being used for display/demo and not sold in large numbers?

No need to think, the DVDi by Faroudja is on the front panel :-)

It seems to be a DVP-1010

Indeed it's mentioned in one of the listings:

Quote:
ブランド :Victor LD-HD2KD (ファロージャ DVP-1010)
モデル :LD-HD2KD (ファロージャ DVP-1010)

Maybe Victor took care of handling the 100V-only power + manual translation (menus are still in English) and Japan customer support?
