I have never seen one on eBay before. If anyone ever wanted one here is the listing.

I read about them, and kinda want to try it out but the starting price is too high for me. :wtf:

What makes these so special? Is this the only line doubler for 480p?

The same seller is flogging a knackered one as well and is including an 'untested' spare PSU. The question begs why is the new spare PSU untested when you could just test it, fit it in the knackered unit and flog it at a much better price.

"I had originally intended to install the new supply (and started on this) but ran out of time."

If you want top dollar for a rare item, you'd make the time to test it. Sounds dodgy.

The end result looks great for specific content which includes LD. No.

Get it if you can afford it. That's a bargain really. It will do wonders for LD. It has one of the best comb filters that you can manually adjust. Scales up to 1080p.

Looks like the knackered one went for a one'er and the good one was ended early (sold elsewhere or an offer made via message perhaps?). If the knackered one was fixable then a ton was a bargain for that. I'd say it probably needed another PSU else the seller would have likely installed it himself to get top dollar (why would you not?).

Like Erin Burnett and being 'Out Front', I'll be honest and say I was contemplating buying the working one. Ended up getting a VP50 Pro for a bargain instead the same day the C2 was taken off eBay. There was a Radiance 2123 for sale at the same time that went for just shy of a monkey on the same day. Nearly went for that too but a VP50 Pro was more appealing on the connectivity front.

Sorry to derail but are the 2123's any good?

Lumagen is always a good choice but the 2123 will only do HDMI-HDMI in 1080p.

For LDs (and other analog systems) you'd need the 2124 or 2144.

Yep that's what I saw looking at the photos and a check of the manual. You'd need to add another device to the chain to handle analog. Not really worth it imho. The 2144 is the one to aspire to but I don't have the setup to justify it. I've had a whole host of VP's in the past including a DVDO VP30 with ABT102 and a DVDO Edge and they always seemed to produce good results. If the VP50 Pro is as good as I have read then I should be all set for a good while.
