I had never seen that one before from Pioneer, intended for LD Karaoke market from the package.

Maybe one way to broadcast to multiple screens or to convert Composite to VHF for old TV sets?

Funny that it's only video input.
Most RF modulators for old tv's that I have seen have at least mono audio input as well as composite video.

But I guess if it's designed for karaoke then video only makes sense, as such setups would have separate audio amplification. The video side is only for a monitor as such.

Yeah, just an RF modulator. It probably cost as much as a TV with composite inputs but there’s a lot of RF only gear from back then so depending on your setup this may have made sense. Also, Pioneer may just just done it on principle when they dropped all the players with RF.
