My Lumagen xs 3d unceremoniously died a few days ago. A replacement (Lumagen 2041) is in the mail and should be arriving Monday.
Before it arrives, I want to make sure I get things in the right order for a seamless integration into my system.
This was my previous set up - Which I have to say worked well for my untrained and unprofessional eye:
1. Pioneer DVL 700
2. JVC VRC/DVD recorder (for upscaling and hdmi)
3. Lumagen xs 3d
4. Denon AVR S660H
5. Samsung qn75qn90aafxza
I question where the Denon AVR is or should be in this arrangement.
Should it be before or after the Lumagen 2041?
Do I even need to run the whole Laserdisc set up through the AVR?
Anyone have any experience with the 2041?
Thank you!
David

Did your power supply fry or something else broke down inside the XS-3D?
I bought new power supply for my XS-3D and it still works like new.

Are you going to open it up and check inside, perhaps you can take some photos of the damaged area?

I'm not sure what happened.
It could be the power supply. When I bought it from an online auction site (not ebay), it did not
come with a power supply. Bought a cheap one off of amazon.
I'm probably not going to try to open it up, since I wouldn't know what I was looking at.
If I do open it up, I'll take some pictures and share.
For now, I'm going to put it in the garage and perhaps try to sell it for parts or repair.
The replacement should be here on Monday. Looking forward to seeing if there is an
even greater improvement in picture quality.

Did you use a 5 volt power supply?
Below that voltage wouldn't fire up the scaler.

Yes, it was a 5V power supply.
Here's the weird thing -
It stopped working at the exact same time the AVR went a little haywire.
So, it could have been a surge of some kind, but it's all plugged into a surge protected power strip.
Poltergeist perhaps?

Yes could definately be poultrygeist ;)

Could be a blown fuse in the XS if there is any and it's all dead now?
Check it out.

The other stuff still works?
