So I just got around to putting a new anti slip ring in and LD-S1 I picked up as it was solid as a rock and no doubt causing slippage. However after partially disassembling the thing to get easier access the tray no longer closes as it did before. It ejects just fine, and if I reset the tray back inside while it's off and turn it back on, it recognizes the tray as closed and will eject again once I press the button, but it will not close afterwards no matter what I press. I don't doubt that something may have broken or come loose but nothing really looks out of the ordinary. The tray does have a little bit of play in it but nothing stands out. I did notice the left side of the tray has a chip on the face of it, but I don't think that would change anything. I'm pretty stumped here to any suggestions of things to look for are completely welcome.

There is a belt involved with tray opening function in LD-S1. If it has never been replaced, it probably could use a new one.
