krbahr wrote: This unit has the same grip ring slipping issues as the CLD type machines that use this mechanism. Here is a US eBay link for an equivalent grip ring used in the HLD-X9 and LD-S9. You need to replace this before proceeding any further. https://www.ebay.com/itm/174768663706I just ordered one piece. Let’s hope for the best. Thx

Though you said clockwise and then changes direction after a short period. Hopefully the grip ring will fix your issue.

Hello Guys, smalls recap to my LD-S9: I changed the loading belt, put grease in it, changed the grip ring for the spindle motor but nothing helped. After that I got myself a used oscilloscope to better understand what might be wrong. After reading and trying different points I found out that the monitor detector in my Laser-Pickup didn't return any usable signal even with the Laser working (checked that with my mobile). I checked the ribbon cable but that was ok. After that I tried to find a working pickup (VNP 1418A) and the Player came back to life. So glad I got the unit working again ... now just a little bit of calibration ... and I'm in heaven again
