Hello Folks, A couple of questions: 1. I found a reference to a Pioneer "Service Knowhow LD-S2 Troubleshooting" manual that was once listed on ebay. http://images.cloud.worthpoint.com/wpim ... eed85e.jpg Anybody have this and know what the part number was? I was able to scrounge up the service manual. 2. I just got an LD-S2 that unfortunately has occasional trouble seeking chapters. Example: Seek to chapter 14, plays fine. Hit Next Chapter (15), LD will stop spinning, spins up again, and starts at the beginning of the LD. Display shows chapter 15 still (and we are now at 1) Hit Next Chapter and correctly seeks to Chapter 16. Again, this is occasional. It doesn't happen for every try on that LD and shows up on different LD's. Has anyone seen this symptom before? I only see two belts in the service manual (loading and synchro). Looks like the synchro belt is used in conjunction with moving the pickup assembly. I was going to go ahead and replace both of these if anything as a preventive maintenance measure. And yes, this unit is a beast! I have never seen so much shielding and care to grounding on any LD player before. Getting inside is indeed a chore. Thanks. |

Very good player but very time consuming to properly adjust the electrical alignments. The laser movement is electro magnetic so no bad motors there. If the LDs are clean them it may need servicing. |
