The LD-660's ability to ignore end of side flags, go straight to the beginning of the disk, etc, is interesting to me, but I'm also not interested in spending $75+ for one off eBay that doesn't have a transit screw.

So I'm wondering if there's a way in test mode to skip around on a disk, and if so, which players can do it?

Cool.

Curiousity, mostly. And Easter Egg hunting. ;)

There's nothing there except loss of focus

You can sometimes find stuff before the beginning of side code. I have a copy of Urusei Yatsura: Movie #1 Only You (1983) [5133-16] that actually has LaserVision bumpers outside the beginning of side code, and if you play the disc normally, you will not see it at all.

Same with almost all Discovisions. Some even have things after the end, like test patterns or the first part of the next side.

I wouldn't expect later disks to have anything, though...

It depends on the player. Most later Pioneers can go into service mode by doing ESC then CX on a service remote (or clone) - usually there's something you can jumper, too.

(I'm trying to figure out how to make it properly work on my V2400, m'self. The 990 instructions don't quite work since the firmware's different)
