| Post subject: | [LD-S2] Closed captioning |
I have an LD-S2 and have never been able to display closed captioning with it. I've read that it's due to the TBC cutting off some lines of the signal. Has anyone decoded CC from their LD-S2 and if so how? |

Has anyone decoded CC from their LD-S2 and if so how? The Perfect Vision first brought this to light - the AD converter doesn't properly digitize line 21 where the CC resides, so no CC from most LD-S2's - I think Pioneer fixed it in later versions. The CLD-95 had a similar problem. Read my TPV PDF review of the LD-S2 for further info. If you don't have it I'll email it to you. |

That's where I first read an explanation for it. I'll have to look at the article again but I thought it was something like line 21 getting shifted up or down. I'd be interested to know if there's a way to fix it once the signal is out of the player or if that's just the way it is. |
