First time poster, long time lurker but long time LD owner
Recently aquired a Pioneer S9 to go alongside the D925 I've owned from new.
The S9 is a low usage example, and I've replaced the drive belt and re-greased the tracks. Everything works fine, except with certain CAV discs.
Toward the end of the disc, usually when you're in or getting into the 40k frame region the discs start to skip, stutter and the picture starts to either corrupt or speed up until either the disc just stops playing or the side end is reached.
Now, if I put the same disc in my D925 it'll play back with no issues whatsoever.
This doesn't happen with every CAV disc I put in the S9, just about half-dozen or so. I just find it odd the same discs play fine in D925.
So, is this an issue with the player or with the discs? Obviously there are technical differences between the S9 and D925, notably that the S9 is LD only, and the D925 multi-format.
Any suggestions or advice warmly welcomed!
