Hello there !

I have a defect Pioneer LD-700. The reading of laserdisc goes bad. LD spin but I have a scrambled image or nothing on screen.

I try to fix the pickup but I don't know if it's the laser diode or something else.

I cleaned the lens and all internals of the pickup. I fear when I disasambled the pickup the deflecting mirrors was disaligned. Unfortunatly I only have an ociloscope. I don't have the tools needed in service manual (the jig) and no laser meter.

For CAV discs I have sometime an image, for CLV discs I have nothing. The RF potentiometer is at it max and the signal measured on the ociloscope is very weak compare to reference signal in service manual.

Have you sepcific informations or tip to calibrate this pickup ? Should I change the laser diode or all the pickup ?

Brought a new LD-700 for swap the pickup. I have better reading of LD, but it's not really viewable. ANy tip to help me to troubleshoot this issue ?

From what I've read once you replace a pickup the player has to be realigned due to the variances between individual pickups.
