I haven't used this player for 2 years. Recently i connected it again and when inserting the disc it doesn't seem to clamp the disc and start spinning.
when I hit on top of the player, it starts spinning and plays fine. I just hate to abuse this beautiful player  and was wondering if this is easy to fix?
It also takes a long time to stop after you push the stop button.

My guess is the loading belt is slipping. You have to remove the top. Then there is a control board that needs to be moved to the side or un-plugged. To move to the side you have to remove the side panel and side plate. Then you can remove the two metal shields to get to the belt. You have to extend the tray, from memory I think you have to remove it from the player. Then the belt will be exposed. I'm guess this belt would be your issue.
