Hey everyone,

I recently bought a Pioneer CLD-R5 LaserDisc player from Japan. Sadly, it looks like it took a hit during shipping - the cardboard box was bent and crumpled, and the player itself got knocked around a bit.

I already ordered an M-holder, but there’s one piece I really need help with: the part marked VNL1674 (see picture). It flew off from the side-changing mechanism, and it seems either broken or missing a clip that holds it in place.

Does anyone here know where I can find a replacement?

I might have one in storage, I'd have to check. This same component is used on all late model CLD-Dxxx players. You can cannibalize any unit for this track.

There is a hook arm (not sure what to call it) on the side B attachment to the rail, that needs to be done properly without breaking it or you'll end up sometime with side switching issues. You have to be extremely careful to not break this part.

Does anyone happen to have this part?

Only people on the forum now that would have or sell extra parts.
Check ebay also, may be better of buying a donor player.

I have the part, but shipping out of the US is insanely expensive.

The part is still sitting on my desk, ready to ship out.

does anyone have an ebay account so i can get shipping via a third part company for much cheaper and have this part?

Shipping from Japan won't change a thing via eBay.

But I do have this part (Guide VNL1674) recently recovered from a CLD-D925.

only from the US or Europe it does cuz I can send it to a forwarding service and it'd be cheaper for something so small:) is the part you recovered for sale?

I went back and looked at the one I have. Like in the exploded parts diagram above, at the rear of the component is a cross member with a 2nd locater nub, and place for a hold down screw. The pictures above must be some kind of revised design.

Was all set to ship the replacement part to Israel but...

Japan Post refused to ship anything to Israel because "everything gets returned recently, all deliveries fail".

I guess we're back at finding another part somewhere else.

Just for fun, I checked USPS and UPS and shipments to Israel are suspended. FedEx looks like they will deliver to Israel, but I'm sure it's hideously expensive.
