Post subject:  [CLD-59] stuttering/skipping on Side 2

I've had this player for about a year, and am using it exclusively to capture audio for muxing into Blu-Rays. Recently, I noticed it was skipping backwards on analog tracks near the end of Side 2, and with digital tracks, recording but with static. This only happens near the end of the disc, and doesn't appear to happen on Side 1.

I did some reading, and found that greasing may be helpful, so I took it apart. The grease looked to be in good condition where it was needed, so I didn't touch it. I recorded the head https://streamable.com/fri0w2 flipping up to the Side 2 position, and noticed it does seem jumpy as it rounds the track.

Not sure how to proceed. Is this a centering issue? I'm not opposed to buying an o-scope and the test disc if so; I'm familiar with electronics repair.

You need to look at side B centering and side B tangential angle.

Is it just on one disc? Make sure it isn't warped.

It was on two discs. I suppose I can try a known good one to be sure.

I'll look into the two adjustments described in any case, thank you.
