Needing help if anyone knows the part number or where I might find the part number for a pickup assembly motor for a Pioneer CLD-D505. I had the player inspected and it turns out it needs this part replaced. Any help would be very appreciated. Thank you. |

I think you are referring to the motor holder for the laser pick-up? If so, here is the one now available. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Pioneer-VNL177 ... 632-2357-0 I just got one for my CLD-59. Pretty common issue w/ the pins on the holder breaking with Epsilon Turn players. The repair guy just said it was the pickup assembly that needed replaced. So I'll send him the link and see if that is what he means. Thank you. |

Repair guy says that is just the motor mount. He is looking for the actual assembly, with the motor I believe. |

Probably easier to order the part I linked; not going to be easy to find it with the motor. |

Sometimes with poor handling the motor actually rips the ribbon cable in two and the motor is separated. If the repair person has soldering skills you can just get the motor holder mentioned above and then the repairman will have to scratch away the insulating cover on the ribbon cable and softwire to the motor connections. The important part is getting an updated motor holder during your repair. If he cannot find the loose gears he needs to shake the player in more angles to free the gears for re-use. |

They indeed sever a lot, but a lot more know how to solder than readjust a LD player. These M-Holder models aren't as picky as the older models, but I doubt the person doing the work has a test disc to fine tune adjustments after complete swap. I wasn't too good with scratching away, so I just started jumping the connections as seen here: Repairing Severed M-Holder Motors |

Jumpers are definitely a good way to go also for the motor connections if you don't want to scratch the insulating cover off the ribbon cable traces. |

Just got word that the part has shipped so it should be here in a few days and I can get it to the tech to fix it. Feel good that this should work and excited! |

Been awhile but I talked with the repairman, his business had been doing some renovations so he got backlogged but he said he'd have my player ready this coming Monday. I'm excited, I've managed to build up a collection of around 50 discs so far and have been testing most of them on the old Sylvania model I have. But it will be great to get this one all hooked up and really be able to dive into the collection I have now. |
