Hi! I’ve been having this issue with my CLD-D704, which otherwise operates perfectly. On just about any CAV disc, I’ll get laser run off at the end of each side as the laser reads from the outer edge of the disc. By runoff, I mean the video will either speed up or skip forward constantly until I press stop, it switches sides, or in the case of side B, ends. This happens on almost all CAV discs, so I’m fairly certain it is a player issue, not a disc issue. Thoughts or remedies? This is the player’s only issue, but it makes me want to avoid my CAV discs, which I’d prefer not to do. For some further info, I keep the player maintained with new loading belts and cleaned or replaced grip rings, but have not greased anything - in case that helps. Thanks! Scott |

Your Focus Servo is most likely out of adjustment, need to do an alignment for the player. |

Thanks - I’ll have to see if there’s someone in the Los Angeles area that can help me with that - I believe that’s beyond my know-how and tools. |
