recently picked up a pioneer 925 player, the machine plays fine but is slightly noisey I think, it also makes a few squeaky noises when the disc drawer is opened and closed. I was wondering if anyone could recommend some basic service measures in order to improve performance and prolong the machines life I am not an engineer but I am quite practical so would be happy taking the machine apart to carry out some basic maintenance with the benefit of your knowledge and experience any help would be greatly appreciated |

Really only two things cause excess noise over the original design, bent chassis or spindle motor wear. You need to determine if this player just has more noise than you are used to or if there is an issue. The squeak with the door opening and closing is just lubrication and tolerance issues, if it bothers you you need to apply more white silicon grease. |
