| Post subject: | [CLD-1070] Won't play CDs |
After getting awesome help cleaning and getting my player to spin LDs, I'm hoping to fix this newfound problem. The player takes in a Cd, recognizes it, but after spinning a couple of times, it stops. Below is a link to a video of the problem with the top off. My personal opinion is that the spindle motor centering is a bit off. I would first check to see if the chassis of the player is not bent in anyway that could cause alignment issues. If it is straight, then download the service manual here…. https://manuals.lddb.com/LD_Players/Pio ... l_Scan.pdf Read up on page 78 (page 50 of the pdf) for details on how centering works. You might get away without using an oscilloscope but that will be up to you (can’t help you more than that since I have never needed to do adjustments like this on my players). Maybe another poster can provide further opinion on the matter. |

This seems to be a recurring issue on these. Try adjustments 3 and 4 in the service manual. If those are good, continue through 8. Don't touch anything with locking compound on it on the first pass. |

Sorry for the late reply. I never got notifs!  .I don't have half of what's needed to fix this issue, but I can say that the player does track and search correctly with LDs. I suppose I can use a normal cd/dvd player for this function Thank you anyway! |
