I will start by cleaning the solder.
In fact I am more interested in restoring the original video port, as I don’t really care about AC3 :)
But yes, at first, let’s try to resolve the video distortion problem !
I am very busy, but I should get back to work on the player next month !
I will post also other picture to help me finding bad caps…

I finally could resolve all my problems !!!
- The waves were causing by the Ac3 mod soldered on the video port 2. After unsoldering it, and reconnect the port 2 to the video board by soldering a bridge between the cut wires, I could get rid of these waves, on video out 1 and I can now use also video out 2 !
- re-caping all the bad caps also helped to get a fantastic clear image, without smear effect even on clv discs ! Woah ! It’s a big increase in term of quality !
- I also did some adjustments on the pickup, to increase the chapter search response, and minimize CAV tracking issues (even the Criterion of The Killer, Face 1, is playing smooth until the end of the disc !)
- I also deactivated the YC filter by soldering the points on the front board. The image quality is now nearly perfect !
Thanks for all your help ! I feel now like I have the best player ever :P
