Hey all, Pioneer CLD-HF9G spins up fine; plays fine; switches to Side B fine. BUT, takes about 45 seconds to stop spinning, then you can eject disc. I thought I read somewhere what the problem is and how to fix, but for the life of me, I can't find it again! Any help would be appreciated. Thx! |

Usually that’s an issue with traction at the spindle. When the motor goes into braking mode, if it slips a little at that point, it won’t try again to slow it down so you just have to wait and wait for it to reach an RPM low enough to kick out the drawer. |

Right. Grip ring. It's what I thought, just couldn't remember exactly. |

HF9G is a Japanese version of CLD-99, so it uses the VEB1237 grip ring. If looking for a replacement I suggest laserparts' replacements: https://www.ebay.com/itm/174686647125 |

IMO if you can’t get an OEM grip ring you can probably make a better one if you are careful/crafty. It’s not like the factory part is any good… |
