Post subject:  [CLD-V840] No power, fuse is good  Topic is solved

I unplugged my player to move it last night, and when I plugged it in, it sparked at the outlet and didn't turn on anymore. I've checked the fuse and replaced it just in case it was making intermittent contact while testing (I'm sure it wasn't I'm just worried the failure is beyond my skill). I've heard the arc suppressor mentioned but the fuse didn't pop and I'm not sure which part is actually the suppressor. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!!

This is an older model, no arc suppressor. Try replacing C108, the small 1uf capacitor on the primary side of the power supply. Make sure sure check the part to see the voltage rating of the capacitor.

Mr Bahr gave me the same advice and was it was good…All I would add is if you have a ESR meter ,try checking all of the Caps...I had an EAD with a dead power board….the “starter” (1uf 100v)had trouble showing a value on the meter at all ,butt 2 others did throw higher values…a 1uf 200v had 50%+ over and a 1000uf 10v was almost 3Xs the value…replaced (3) those and that fixed the problem….…and I have near zero experience with electronics….without the help of the folks here like Mr Bahr…I wouldnt have a nice working EAD TheaterVision..
Thanks to all that give advice at lddb and Julien for providing this forum…
