Post subject:  [CLD-2950] C491 capacitor

Hi, being new to the forum - I just thought Id ask if anyone knows if this capacitor can be replaced without any specific precautions. Its fairly hefty at 1F, so I'm not sure if its holding charge for a volatile (?) memory. I cant see anything on the schematic. I've done the PSU and the small board above the board this one, but I thought I'd ask before going to town. The player itself has got some missing functions, which is why Ive decided to start with a re cap - just in case voltages are being lost.
Thanks for your time.

I recently overhauled a CLD-2950. C491 can be replaced without much concern. I also replaced C762 on AFMB board.

Towards the back from C491 is a cluster of capacitors around IC902 (has a heatsink on it). Check all of them carefully. Also replaced C976 further up from those (next to VR603). These should only be replaced if they are bad.
