Hi there

my recently purchased pioneer 925 is displaying a strange change in brightness not sure if it's an issue or not.
Basically when watching movies (NTSC) occasionally you get a slight shift in the brightness, the strange thing is that it happens in the same place so you can rewind the movie and the shift happens in the exact same place
I would have thought that if it was an issue with the player it would happen randomly? It happens on different discs, recently men in black, the abyss and glory
The player is connected to a Pioneer 43" plasma via scart, is this an issue or am I only noticing it because of the larger screen size, I used to use a 32 CRT before I resurrected my laserdisc collection
It doesn't stop me enjoying my laserdiscs but interested to here if anyone else has come across this or whether you feel there is an issue at all?

thanks

Never encountered this on any of my 925 players but...
Be sure there are no automatic picture adjustements activated on you display!! this would explain this happening in the same scene!!
I once had this problem with my philips screen and it turned out to be the auto setting for background illumination.
It adjusted only occasionally when picture input signal was too dark!!
That would be a possible cause...
Try the player on a normal crt to see what happens then...
Good luck on finding the issue...
Kurtis may be of help if it is a problem with the player itself...

Is it happening when you have bright/white scenes?

I had a problem before that when the picture would be too bright, some display would lose they sync or maybe decide it was too bright and tune it down dynamically.

My 2cts.
