Since the player is completely dead now, the problem is going to be with the power supply or its connections. It could be a coincidence that the player/power supply went dead just as you were replacing the belt, but more likely is that something came loose during the belt replacement process.
Whichever of those two likely options happened, you will need to become at least basically familiar with cables and wiring inside electronic equipment, if you do not have a friend available who does have some electronic knowledge.
You (or a tech-savvy friend) will need to look --very-- carefully at the cables going into and out of the power supply, and also look for any possibly broken/loose parts or wiring to or from the power supply. You should also look carefully at wiring going to the power switch or front-panel circuit board(s) for any parts, wires, or connectors that might have got pulled loose, even partially.
The next steps, after what I described above, will be to get the service manual for your player and then use a digital multimeter (DMM) to check voltages on the power supply's connections. These steps, and what to do next depending on what you find, are in the --truly-- "tech-savvy" level, so you would need to be a vary fast learner of electronics to do repairs at this point if needed.
I wish you success. Let us know if you do get a full, careful inspection of the player's boards and wiring, and what you find.
