I am a newbie so this might be an easy fix. When I insert the disk tray, the laser assembly pops up and then the laser slides towards the disk. However when it reaches relatively close to the center, it runs into a plastic arm which is labelled as "CD plate" part number VNL1576 in the manual. Here is a link to a video of it happening, as it is kind of hard to describe else wise. Thanks for any help!

There are a couple micro switches that the laser moves over that are on the bottom of the mechanical assembly, the one further away from the spindle motor is for the position to sense for LD's and the one closer to the spindle motor is for the position to sense for CD's. Your CD position micro Sensor is most likely bad.

No replacement parts available, need to get one from a parts unit.
