The VNL1779 is the Mholder you should buy to put in your R7G. This is what I will do before I open my player, will look for Youtube videos "how to replace loading belt" just to get an idea of the replacement procedure. The 4x M-holders I did buy them long time ago. I know previous versions were grey and got brittle with time. Black M-holders had updated plastic material? If I remember correct I think my R7G was a late model 1998 or 1999 last time I checked serial number on LDDB? Later model CLD players from 1997 should have revised black M-holders? I have a repair guy who fix my gear. Would it be wise to take my player to my tech guy and let him check all caps if any need replacement as an overhaul? LD players are very old now and caps do go bad and need replacement from time to time. I haven't noticed any other issues with my player besides loading belt. I know about don't touch it if it ain't broken.
