Hi. I need help fixing my Pioneer CLD-1850 player, which won't turn on.

After connecting it to the power supply, the red LED only lights up, but when I press the power button, nothing happens, and I can't turn it on with the remote either.

I checked the two fuses on the power board, and they are fine.

Are there any other fuses in the player? Has anyone had the same problem?

Thank you for your advice.

There are IC protectors (fuses) that look like two pin transistors on the secondary side of the supply.

If the red light does not go off when you press the power switch you and on the secondary side of the supply you do have the proper voltages after the rectifier diode then you mat have an issue on the front panel board. You need to see if the front panel sends the power on signal when you press the power switch.

If the red light goes off but the unit doesn't power on then you need to check which voltage is being held down and if the problem is in the power supply or a board it feeds.

The red light is on even when I press the power button. How do I know if the front panel is sending a power-on signal when I press the power button? Thank you

You have to go to the connector on the power supply and see if they labeled any pins, depends on the model. If you look at the schematic from the manuals section

https://manuals.lddb.com/LD_Players/Pioneer/CLD/CLD-1850/CLD-1850-EN-Service-Manual_Scan.pdf

It is Pin 1 of the 6 pin connector where the cable goes to the front panel. It should switch from high to low or low to high each time you press the power button.
